Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has rejected a move to Manchester United, according to the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Michael Zorc.

The German international has been a long-time target of the Premier League giants, and it was widely expected that he would join the Red Devils this summer.
However, Zorc told German football magazine Kicker that the star defender will remain at Borussia Dortmund for the time being.
“It made sense that Mats was thinking about his future, but I always pointed out that we plan [for the future] with him,” Zorc is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
It seems United boss Louis van Gaal has now turned his attention yet again to Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi, with Metro reporting the Argentine agreed on a move to Old Trafford.
United have twice previously tried to sign the £36.5m-rated man, but were knocked back on both occasions.
It now seems they will go all out for the former Porto defender with first-choice Hummels likely to remain in the Bundesliga.
