Arsenal are reportedly plotting a bid for Torino right-back Matteo Darmian.
The attack-minded defender has been in fine form for the Turin club this season. He also has an impressive international reputation, having represented Italy’s senior side 11 times since making his Azzurri debut in May last year.
Hector Bellerin, who is still just 20 years old, has been Arsenal’s best right-back this season. Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers have also filled the position this term.
However, Chambers could well be moulded into a centre-half – an area in which the Gunners squad is particularly short – while Debuchy’s future at the Emirates seems uncertain, especially after he spoke out to reveal that he intends to end his career at Lille.
So, Arsenal could well be in market for a right-back and, according to Forza, Darmian is the man they have identified as a top target, with a £10.7m offer said to be imminent.
