With 10 days to go before the biggest fight in boxing history, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe eventually progressed beyond their war of words in the media to agreeing to a signed contract.
Arum apologised to the public for the length of time that it took for an agreement to come about, while it is reported that CEO of CBS, Leslie Moonves, was key in negotiations just as he was in talks to make the fight itself happen.
Tickets for the live event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be available for $7,500, $5,000,, $3,500, $2,500 and $1,500 and are set to go on sale at 3pm ET on Thursday.
Regardless of the short turnaround until the fight, it is expected that tickets will quickly sell out as many would have already been promised and distributed by the respective fighters and promotional companies.
Meanwhile, it was also announced closed circuit live footage will be shown in all MGM properties in Vegas with tickets available for $150.
The announcement will certainly be welcome news for anxious fans travelling to Vegas for the event, while the MGM Grand is expected to make around $74m in ticket sales in a bumper weekend for the state of Nevada as a whole.
With the row over tickets now concluded, the attention will now be firmly focused on the two fighters ahead of fight week with both Mayweather and Pacquiao looking sharp in training camp.
The pair will be present at the pre-fight press conference next week as well as the weigh-in next Friday before the biggest fight of their respective careers.
