Manchester United are set to sell Robin van Persie to Fenerbahce for £4.9m this week, as reported by The Metro.
The Turkish club is now set to hold a medical exam for the Netherlands international, who has been injury-prone throughout his career. Most recently, van Persie suffered an ankle injury and missed much of the 2014/15 season.
Nonetheless, the talent is still there along with the veteran experience. Plus, moving out of the Premier League should make life easier for van Persie.
The 31-year-old made 29 appearances for the Red Devils last season and scored 10 goals, which is a significant fall from when he was playing at his peak.
He ended his eight-year Arsenal career with a 30-goal season before scoring 26 in his first season at Old Trafford.
United are shifting their focus to Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane, who will become easier to pursue as soon as van Persie’s salary is offloaded.
