The Storm have signed promising young Northern Pride playmaker Shaun Nona for the 2015 NRL season.
NRL club Melbourne Storm have signed promising young playmaker Shaun Nona for the 2015 season.
The 23-year-old had an impressive season with the Northern Pride in the Intrust Super Cup competition this season and was rewarded with a selection in the Queensland Representative side at five-eighth.
Storm football director Frank Ponissi said Nona is a naturally gifted player who the club have tracked closely this season through his exploits with the Pride.
“We are pleased to have signed Shaun, having followed his progress this season at Northern Pride,” Ponissi said.
“Shaun is a naturally talented player and if he maintains his positive attitude and dedication we believe he will do well in the Melbourne Storm system.”
Nona currently sits second on the Intrust Super Cup points-scoring table and has played a major role in helping the Pride sit atop of the league table.
He will join the Storm in November for pre-season training.
