North Queensland win 18-17 over Melbourne Storm in golden point
The Storm were too good for the Warriors who have slumped to their second straight NRL defeat in 2015.
It was an unhappy return to AAMI Park for former Melbourne forward Ryan Hoffman. The first try of the game came from nothing, Manu Fonua cleaning up after a wayward pass.
Then winger Marika Koroibete dished out a huge fend to extend the Storm’s lead.
The Warriors pulled a try back from Manu Vatuvei but Melbourne was controlling proceedings. Their next try had a bit of everything as the ball ping-ponged around the field for Will Chambers to eventually score.
Nathan Friend gave the Warriors some hope when he crossed on 59 minutes.
But the Storm clicked back into gear and late four-pointers from Tim Glasby and a second from Koroibete confirmed the win.
