The Turkish giants are making significant moves this summer in a bid to wrestle the Super Lig title away from bitter city rivals Galatasaray.
Having added Nani and Robin Van Persie to their squad already, they were reportedly set to make an audacious bid to sign Ozil.
However, the Gunners star has politely turned them down even though he revealed that is a fan of the Yellow Canaries.
“Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan,” Ozil told Turkish publication Sabah.
“The offer from Fenerbahce was an honour but I want to continue in England for now.”
Meanwhile, Galatasaray have also been busy in the transfer market this summer, adding former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski to an already strong team.
With Ozil returning from an injury last season to play an important role for the Gunners, Arsene Wenger will be hoping for more of the same from the German international in the new campaign and beyond.
