Dolphins starting Center Mike Pouncey, in addition to still being investigated for his role in the Bullying Scandal of 2013, is now expected to miss even more time after a recent hip surgery.
Dolphins Center Mike Pouncey could very well miss the first half of the Dolphins season as part of a now-projected 4-month recovery, instead of the originally reported 3-month recovery time.
Pouncey underwent off-season hip surgery in June and it was reported that Pouncey would need approximately 3 months to recover.
Today Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reported that Pouncey could need until late October to fully recover from surgery and be ready to play. The Dolphins have a Week 5 bye, so Pouncey would likely miss the first 7 games of the season.
Pouncey was one of the figures mentioned in the report on the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin Bullying scandal. He was also served with a subpoena in 2013 regarding the Aaron Hernandez murder and gun trafficking case. Hernandez was Pouncey’s teammate the University of Florida football team from 2007-2009.
