After the Dolphins let Jake Long leave the team this off-season via free agency, the franchise must look to upgrade their offensive line in order to protect Ryan Tannehill.
Lane Johnson from Oklahoma is the third best offensive tackle in this draft, behind Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher, yet is still considered to be a top 10 pick. With the Dolphins in a need to move fast for an offensive tackle, a trade makes sense for both parties as the number of picks the Browns would receive would help in their re-building process.
If the trade were to happen, the Dolphins would move from 12 to six on the draft board, crucially one pick ahead of the Arizona Cardinals, who are also in a desperate need for an offensive lineman.
For the Browns, they would likely receive at least three picks in this years draft. as well as maybe a late round pick next year, and for the sake of six places, it seems like a good move for them too.
The team has a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball, and with this season’s draft deep in defensive talent, the Browns can really put together a defence that can become one of the league best in future years.
The Browns can also look to add a receiving weapon to help Brandon Weeden in either Tavon Austin or Cordarelle Patterson , who should both be available at pick number 12.
