The former No.2 overall Draft pick has already been signed to two extensions this season by the franchise, which follows on from two previous spells in Miami over the course of his NBA career.
With the absence of Chris Bosh for the remainder of the season, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has seen enough from Beasley for him to warrant a new deal as the organisation remains hopeful that they will be able to secure a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.
Beasley has surprisingly played good defense during his stint with Miami this season, and he’s averaging 9.5 points per game even though he isn’t entirely efficient.
However, given that he is playing around 22 minutes per game, it is clear that he offers Spoelstra some depth and some solid play when involved and as a result he will get the opportunity to play down the stretch and into the post-season if the Heat make it.
Miami are currently 30-36 for the season which keeps them in eighth spot in the East, but they are above the Boston Celtics on their head-to-head record alone with the Indiana Pacers also holding an identical record.
Despite the fact that the Eastern Conference is widely criticised for its lack of competitiveness, the playoff race is expected to be a thriller this year with the Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons still not giving up hope of making it.
Meanwhile, the Heat will now be hoping that Beasley can play a key role to keep them in the mix in the coming weeks.
Spoelstra indicated Beasley will be signed for balance of season. Wednesday.
