The Miami Heat face the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Wednesday night, hoping to continue a remarkable record in February.
Doc Rivers has seen his Clippers team become a dominant force at home, compiling a 20-3 record at the Staples Center, the third best home record in the NBA.
However, the Heat arrive on the West Coast looking to improve on a 12-3 run against teams from the Western Conference, and build on an impressive run of form through the month of February.
Since the “Big Three” of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were put together, the Heat have gone 34-6 in February as they look to put the pressure on and gear up for the post-season.
They appear to be doing the same again this year after a disappointing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder a week ago, with Wade returning to form after being rested to allow his knees to recover.
The Heat guard had 29 points the last time these two met, and although the Clippers won on that occasion, they will rely heavily on Blake Griffin to lead them to another victory with influential point guard Chris Paul still sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Paul is expected to return to action later this week, but his absence is likely to be a key factor in the Clippers being unable to break down the Heat enough to let the offensive threat win the game.
Nevertheless, it promises to be an exciting clash between two giants of their respective conferences, with the stars on show at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.
