The Miami Marlins lost their season opener, 2-1, to the Atlanta Braves. This may have been due to having an unexpected and ridiculous rain delay.

The Marlins were able to finish, but Marlins Park announced that they will be holding a rain delay despite having a retractable roof that the organization spent $50 million on.
They had spent a total of $515 million on renovations for their stadium, which included an exploding fantasy fountain. Fans were not too happy with the groundskeepers closing their roof too late, and they even booed.
It would never make sense for a stadium to spend money on fancy things, and the Marlins may have even forgotten what they had invested so much money in.
Miami Hurricanes football writer Matt Porter acknowledged this insane situation on Twitter.
Big ol’ raincloud on its way over Marlins Park. Temps dropping. The roof remains open for now.

Other Twitter users also commented on the Marlins’ roof, but they made light of the situation by mocking the Marlins groundskeepers.
