Australia captain Michael Clarke has retired hurt during the first Test against India at Adelaide Oval.
The 33-year-old came into the match under a fitness cloud and seems to have re-injured his back while leaving a wide ball down the leg side from Ishant Sharma.
Clarke appeared to be in obvious discomfort and after being assessed by team physiotherapist Alex Kontouris and doctor Peter Brukner, he left the field unbeaten on 60.
He was replaced by Steve Smith.
