With the Bucks advertising ticket deals in order to ensure that they have a sell-out for both Game 3 and 4 of their opening round series against the Bulls, it is expected that many rival fans will make the short trip to attend the games.
It is just an hour-and-a-half drive from Chicago to get to Milwaukee and so perhaps anticipating that there may well be a significant Bulls following turning up, Dinan has moved to try and persuade them to sit it out.
“I would say it’s going to be a very long, long, lonely drive home to west Chicago after the games here,” Dinan said, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
“That’s my advice. Stay home because you’re going to be really lonely and sad on that long ride home.”
Naturally, his advice isn’t going to have much bearing on the Chicago fans making the trip, as after winning Game 1 in impressive fashion, they will be confident enough of sealing a safe passage through to the Conference semi-finals.
While the Bucks undoubtedly have enough talent on their roster to at least make this series competitive and keep their rivals honest, the Bulls have more firepower and better depth which will make the difference in the upcoming games.
In addition, based on his performance on Saturday night, Derrick Rose will look to have a significant influence on this series at least as he put up 23 points and seven assists in just 27 minutes of action as he clearly enjoyed his return to playoff basketball.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee as a franchise may well benefit from the fact that the travelling Bulls fans will help sell out their arena considering their ticket offers would suggest that they struggling to do so without them.
