Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson was already suspended for three games this season because of a drunk driving arrest, but he is currently facing new charges.
Simpson is facing possession of marijuana and driving with an open alcohol bottle charges, and he has a court arraignment scheduled for Nov. 3.
As a result, the Vikings have decided to release him. This adds insult to injury since running back Adrian Peterson was indicted on child abuse charges.
Here is a tweet from the Vikings’ official Twitter account confirming Simpson’s release.
