Liverpool eye €50m transfer for Steven Gerrard replacement
Reds officials flew out to Rome last week to hold talks with the Bosnian international about a possible summer switch to Anfield as he has appeared at the summit of Brendan Rodgers’ wish list.
With Steven Gerrard heading off to MLS giants LA Galaxy at the end of the season, it is thought the Rodgers has identified Pjanic as the ideal man to fill his boots.
Liverpool had been hoping that a fee of around £25m would be enough to prize him away, but Roma are holding out for a further £12m.
But Pjanic isn’t believed to be interested in the move either, and will knock back Liverpool’s offer to increase his salary.
