1. Miguel Cabrera is still a top-5 hitter
Talks began to surface of the Detroit Tigers’ first baseman declining after last season, but you know Cabrera is a slugger when hitting 25 home runs with 109 RBIs is considered an “off year.” Cabrera had eclipsed the 40-home run mark in his previous two seasons while winning the American League MVP award both times.
Cabrera has reached 100 RBIs for 11 consecutive seasons, and he is currently hitting .517 with two home runs and nine RBIs. It’s only a matter of time before the 2012 Triple Crown winner and future Hall of Famer reaches 400 career home runs. His 10-year, $292 million contract has shown signs of being worthy of comparison to Albert Pujols or Alex Rodriguez yet.
