Tom Heinemann pounced in stoppage time to earn a point.
Vancouver Whitecaps produced a spirited comeback against Chivas to come two behind to salvage a 2-2 at the BC Place Stadium on Sunday.
A first-half brace from Erick Torres put the visitors into a commanding lead, the Mexican striker opening the scoring with a stunning overhead kick in the third minute before heading in a second from Edgar Meja’s cross on the quarter hour.
Gershon Koffie halved the deficit in the 64th minute when he fired in from a poor clearance from goalkeeper Dan Kennedy and the comeback was completed in dramatic fashion when Tom Heinemann lashed in from close range in the third minute of added on time.
