Monaco to sign Hulk for incredible transfer fee…
Huge spending Monaco are close to signing Hulk for £40m from Zenit St. Petersburg, according to French publication RMC sport.
The player arrived in the principality late last night to discuss personal terms with the newly promoted side, who have already spent huge amounts of money on Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez this summer.
If they complete a deal for Hulk, they will have spent £165m already this transfer window.
Hulk has never truly settled in Russia, following another huge money move from Porto last year. Allegations of racism from supporters, and teammate unrest at his huge wages have blighted his stay at the club.
The Brazilian powerhouse only managed seven league goals for Zenit, but this hasn’t put off Monaco, who are willing to shell out £40m to provide support for £53m Falcao, their biggest summer signing.
Hulk is an incredibly powerful attacker, who can operate on the right of a front three (where he does for Brazil) or directly through the middle, (where he did so successfully for Porto.) The 27-cap Brazilian is likely to play from the right for Monaco, as Falcao is more or less guaranteed the central striking position.
