That result ensured that the Three Lions head to France with a 100 percent record in qualifying, and they will certainly be buoyed by their form as well as the new faces in the squad that impressed to stake their claim for a place in the squad next summer.
Elsewhere, Mario Gaspar’s first-half header secured a 1-0 win for Spain over Ukraine, but Cesc Fabregas missed a penalty on the night which was his fourth consecutive miss from the spot.

Spain finished top of Group C with 27 points from their 10 games, but they will have plenty of work to do in order to defend their European crown.
