Kenyan ace plans for an All African strike partnership
Mohun Bagan’s latest addition Eric Muranda is looking forward to building a repertoire with Nigerian striker Odafa Okolie.
The 31-year-old is part of a splurge of African signings for the Mariners.
Speaking to Goal India Muranda reiterated his keenness to work with the Nigerian.
“Odafa is a great striker. I have heard he has scored a huge number of goals in the last couple of seasons. I wish to develop a good partnership with him.”
The forward believes his previous experience on the continent will stand him in good stead when it comes to playing in the I-League.
“I have played in many countries. In Asia, I have mostly played in Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore. Last season, I played for Rangers FC and most recently for Nairobi City Stars in Kenya. I know the heritage of Mohun Bagan and will try to live up to the expectations.”
The Kenyan also spoke of his versatility and willingness to adapt: “I have been here in Kolkata for the last six-to-seven days. I have spent quite some time with the team and I hope that I will be able to adapt to the strategies soon.
“I am primarily a striker, but I can also operate from left and right wing. I have played in those positions before.”
