Fans from around the world can send their favourite player to the big time.
Worldwide fan balloting for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game began Friday at a special event in New Orleans, where the 63rd showdown of elite stars will be staged next February.
People can vote on a daily basis for their favorite players as starters for the All-Star matchup next February 16 at New Orleans Arena.
Social media networks can be utilized to vote for the second year in a row, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as Sina Weibo and Tencent Microblog in China with people able to vote for 10 players per day, in most cases needing to name first and last names of players in photo captions or comment areas as well as the hashtag NBABallot.
The NBA’s website and applications also offer avenues to submit votes.
Voting will conclude on January 20 with the starters to be announced on January 23.
NBA All-Star ballots feature 60 players each from the Eastern and Western conferences, the names chosen by a media panel and including 36 frontcourt players and 24 guards from each group. Three forward-centers and two guards must be selected.
