Atlanta makes a late bid for the Spanish All-Star.
It seems the Los Angeles Lakers won’t front court star Pau Gasol back in season 2014-15 as interest in the four-time All-Star hots up.
Los Angeles has been holding out hope of keeping their center-piece after they offered him a two-year $10 million deal.
However, with Gasol being 34 years old and coming towards the end of his career the is looking to land on a team that can contend for a title next year, something that will not be in the Lakers’ near future.
Gasol has been heavily linked with the San Antonio Spurs, the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks and now the Atlanta Hawks have made a late bid for the two-time NBA champion.
Gasol could end up playing next to Al Horford in Atlanta, but with just $11 million a year on the table, it is not enough to pry his interest away from bigger marketplaces.
I'm very close to deciding. Thank you all for your interest and support! #FreeAgency
