Kings fight off the Timberwolves to claim win on Thursday night.
Led by the 24 points of Isaiah Thomas, the Sacramento Kings held on to seal a hard-fought 101-98 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Sleep Train Arena on Thursday.
Thomas was well supported by Tyreke Evans (21 points, five rebounds and five assists) and DeMarcus Cousins (15 points and 14 rebounds) as the Kings managed to secure back-to-back wins.
Sacramento are now 5-5 in their last 10 games as they move above the Timberwolves in the Western Conference. They have picked up some impressive wins in recent weeks as they move away from the group at the bottom of the rankings.
In contrast, the Timberwolves are now 3-7 in their last 10, despite the return from injury of the likes of Andrei Kirilenko and Nikola Pekovic, with the latter scoring 18 points on Thursday.
Ultimately it was not enough, and they prepare to face fellow strugglers the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, while the Kings are at Denver.
