LaVine is the strong favourite to win the Dunk Contest on Saturday night as part of the All-Star events in New York and Wiggins was clearly excited about what he had in store for fans.
Victor Oladipo, Giannis Antetkounmpo, and Mason Plumlee complete the line-up for the contest, but given his previous dunks both in practice and in games, LaVine is the name on everyone’s lips.
Wiggins was speaking fresh from his MVP performance in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night, a game in which LaVine gave us a glimpse of what is to come.
“You guys are in for a surprise. Trust me. It’s going to be crazy,” Wiggins said, according to Pro Basketball Talk.
“I can’t say nothing. Just know — I almost fainted. I’ve never seen a dunk like that. I’ve never witnessed it live before in my life. Just know.”
LaVine, 19, has promised fans that he has something special lined up for Saturday, but he will be under pressure to get it right as participants have three attempts in the first round before finding out whether or not they advance to the final.
With the 3-point Contest also being held at the Barclays Center on Saturday, it promises to be a highly entertaining night courtesy of the NBA.
