Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins has aimed a not-so-cryptic tweet at coach George Karl as speculation continues to suggest that the latter is pushing for a trade.
Cousins has endured a turbulent time in Sacramento over the years, and none more so than during last season when Mike Malone was fired and eventually replaced by Karl.
The former Denver Nuggets coach has continuously hinted that he wouldn’t rule out trading the talented big man, which in turn has led to issues within the organisation.
The front office, particularly owner Vivek Ranadive and Vlade Divac, have insisted throughout all the talk in the media that Cousins will not be traded. However, the speculation won’t go away and Karl is doing little to dismiss it.
The 24-year-old wants to remain loyal to the franchise, but if his coach continues to push to trade him rather than building around him, then there could be problems in Sacramento before the new season gets underway.
Karl has had his troubles with players in the past, with the likes of Andre Iguodala and Carmelo Anthony just two of several players who have referred to him as being a snake.
Cousins proved that his emoji game is strong on Tuesday by placing a snake between grass in a Twitter post, and he certainly isn’t the first player to take this route.
