Gasol, Mirotic and McDermott all arrived in Chicago this summer…
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has insisted that the current roster is arguably the “most talented” that he’s played with since entering the NBA.
The 25-year-old is currently training with Team USA ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and he has impressed both his team-mates and coaches with his progress given that he has been out of competitive action since November.
Rose has played just 10 games in the past two seasons due to two serious knee injuries that he sustained, but he is confident that his troubles are now behind him as he looks to get back to playing at the MVP level he demonstrated prior to the setbacks.
However, he is equally as excited about the talent that the Bulls front office has put around him ahead of the new season, with Pau Gasol, Nikola Mirotic and Aaron Brooks all arriving this summer.
In addition, Doug McDermott was drafted with the 11th overall pick, and coupled with the continued progress of Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Tony Snell, Rose believes that the Bulls are particularly strong this season with Joakim Noah also leading the way.
“I think this is the most talented team I’ve played on in my NBA career to tell you the truth,” Rose said after Team USA’s practice Wednesday, NBA.com reports.
“With all the players that I have, with the experience that everybody’s bringing to the table. And the way that everybody’s working out individually during the offseason and what I’ve been hearing.”
Chicago missed out on Carmelo Anthony this off-season after the 30-year-old opted to remain with the New York Knicks, however, they have arguably benefited from his decision as they have been able to add strength and depth to the roster which has been lacking in previous years.
Rose is adamant that all the players are ready to put everything on the line in order to succeed next season, and he revealed that he has taken inspiration from the likes of Snell and McDermott who have worked hard over the off-season and impressed in the Summer League.
