The Warriors are the odds-on favourites to win the title, as they prepare to face the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals while the Cavaliers will battle the Atlanta Hawks in the East.
Cleveland are second favourites, followed by the Hawks while the Rockets are the fourth favourites given that they will have to somehow navigate their way past the Warriors to get to the Finals.
However, they do head into that series with a great deal of momentum and confidence having dispatched the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night after turning around a 3-1 series deficit.
Coupled with guard James Harden and center Dwight Howard being in impressive form, there is no reason why the Rockets can’t spring a surprise if they perform consistently over the course of the seven-game match-up.
Nevertheless, it will takes something special to deny the Warriors and MVP Stephen Curry, as they have looked just as impressive in the playoffs as they did in the regular season after advancing past both the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies.
Curry and his teammates experienced a slight hiccup against the Grizzlies, but they regrouped and advanced in style in the end and now will look to get off to a quick start against Houston with their series starting on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Cavs are heavy favourites to defeat the Hawks despite the latter being the No.1 seed in the East. Cleveland overcame the Chicago Bulls even after the loss of Kevin Love and point guard Kyrie Irving suffering from a knee injury, and with James on their side they are undoubtedly always going to be favoured.
