Curry is regarded as the best player on the Warriors roster with the team currently holding the best record in the league at 42-9 for the season.
In addition, the 26-year-old received the most votes of any player in the NBA in the final All-Star balloting results and so it is clear that his star is certainly rising.
However, he is still short of being recognised as a global superstar on the level that the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant are at, and he knows that he will have to continue to work hard and produce on the court to take that next step.
“I hope to be,” Curry said, according to Pro Basketball Talk.
“Obviously it’s nice that the fans are supportive and show out like that in the voting process for the All‑Star Game. I never expected that. Two years ago I wasn’t here, so it’s pretty special. And I hope to continue that trend upward to doing great things in this league.”
Curry’s style of play is undoubtedly a huge attraction for fans given his creativity and flashy assists skills, while his ability from 3-point range is obviously a selling point along with his ‘Splash Bro’ Klay Thompson.
The Warriors as a whole are building towards being recognised as the most entertaining team in the NBA and with their current trajectory of success under rookie coach Steve Kerr, it shouldn’t be too long before they start receiving more attention from outside the US.
However, Curry is fully aware of the fact that to be considered on a par with the likes of James and Kobe Bryant, he must win championships and MVP awards in order to be considered among those legends and become a familiar face to fans around the world.
