The NBA All-Star 3-point Contest 2015 promises to be one of the most entertaining in many years after the competitors were officially announced on Thursday.
Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will join Atlanta Hawks’ Kyle Korver and five other players in the shoot-out during All-Star weekend in New York on February 14.
Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving and defending champion Marco Belinelli will all feature in the event, while Wesley Matthews and JJ Redick complete the field.
Curry made 10 3-pointers en route to scoring 51 points on Wednesday night in the Warriors’ win over the Dallas Mavericks as he warmed up in style, while Thompson made 11 3-pointers during his record breaking quarter against the Sacramento Kings last month.
Nevertheless, Korver leads the NBA in 3-point accuracy with a 53.2 percent shooting clip, and so it promises to be a highly entertaining contest between some of the best shooters in the NBA today.
Belinelli will undoubtedly hope to defend his crown, but given the level of competition around him, it will certainly take something special from the Italian at the Barclays Center to keep out his rivals.
