Bulls decimated by injuries again this season…
Chicago Bulls pair Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose “have to be smart” in their rehabilitation but are hopeful that they will return before the end of the regular season.

Butler to miss 3-6 weeks with elbow injury: Chicago guard hopes to return before end of season.
Butler was speaking to the media after it was confirmed that he had suffered an elbow ligament sprain and would be sidelined for between three and six weeks.
It was another huge injury blow for the Bulls who are already without Rose after he underwent knee surgery on a torn meniscus, and Taj Gibson is out with an ankle problem.
While their teammates fought on without them on Tuesday night in a win over the Washington Wizards, the Bulls will need their star trio healthy when it comes to the playoffs if they are to have any chance of making a deep run.
“I think we both want to be back ASAP,” Butler said, according to ESPN.
“As soon as possible. But I think we both have to be smart about it. I’m not going to say we’re going to come back on the same day because I don’t know, but I definitely think we both want to make it back before the end of the season.”
The 25-year-old is fortunate in the sense that he does not require surgery on his elbow, but it is clear that both Butler and Rose will face a race against time to be considered healthy and get valuable minutes in before the regular season ends.
Coach Tom Thibodeau lamented their bad luck with injuries again this year, as although many will criticise the minutes he gives his starters, the injuries to both Butler and Gibson were on normal basketball plays while Rose has struggled with his own issues for the last three years.
The organisation remains confident that they will get their first choice back-court pair back in time to make sure they get their rhythm back before the post-season, but at the same time they will not want to take any unnecessary risks.
