Curry was named the MVP this year as he continues to establish himself as one of the leading players in the league, and he has taken his form from the regular season into the playoffs.
The Warriors star is in fact averaging more points in the post-season than through the regular campaign, and finished with almost double the amount of points that James received in the MVP vote with 1,198 compared to 552.
“Well, the same way you slow me down,” James said, according to ESPN, when asked how you stop Curry. “You can’t.”
“I think a lot of people don’t understand how great his motor is. He never stops moving. His ballhandling, his ability to shoot the ball off the dribble and off the catch. It’s uncanny. I don’t think there’s ever been a guy in the league to shoot the ball the way he does off the dribble or off the catch, off the ball. He just creates so many matchup problems for your defense, and you just always have to be aware.”
James added that he is delighted that his rival is enjoying great success on and off the court these days, especially considering he has a beautiful family and is a great role model for kids watching the league.
He also recalled watching Curry play at college level and recognising his talent, and is happy that he was able to take that ability into the NBA and prove how special he is by continuing to lead Golden State towards becoming a championship-winning side.
However, he will be hoping that Kyrie Irving is able to limit him when the two teams face off in the NBA Finals, which get underway on June 4 with Game 1 being played at the Oracle Arena.
