Ahead of the first-round series between the Mavs and Rockets, Cuban suggested that Houston were the most predictable team in the NBA. While he did give them credit by praising guard James Harden and insisting that they were talented, he was confident that they could be stopped.
While Dallas were unable to do so and saw their in-state rivals end their post-season push, the Rockets saw off the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday to secure a 4-3 series win after trailing to their rivals 3-1.
Cuban suggested that they weren’t a particularly great all-round team, and provided that their opposition was good enough, they could be stopped.
Harden and Co. have proved that theory wrong so far, and Cuban has conceded that he was wrong and congratulated them on their progression to the Western Conference Finals.
Rockets fans probably shouldn’t get used to this from Cuban, but it was certainly a nice touch from the Mavs owner to own up to his mistaken call. It remains to be seen if Houston can continue to prove him wrong when they take on the Golden State Warriors next.
Congrats to the Rockets. Gotta admit I was wrong. A lot.of guys stepped up. Congrats @dmorey
