Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and Orlando Magic star Victor Oladipo will both reportedly take part in the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest next month.
The All-Star Dunk Contest is one of the leading events on the Saturday of the All-Star weekend but more often than not it usually fails to meet the expectations of the fans.
However, this year could be very different if reports that Antetokounmpo is taking part which would add to the talent already expected with Minnesota Timberwolves duo Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins potentially participating too.
“The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and Orlando Magic’s Victor Oladipo have committed to participating in the All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk contest, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Brooklyn Nets center Mason Plumlee will be a part of the competition too, sources told Yahoo Sports,” Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
The ‘Greek Freak’ would be a welcome addition to the event given that he has incredible athleticism and both the length and hops to pull off some ridiculous dunks.
However, LaVine is widely regarded as the man to beat after showing off some of his dunking skills in the past…
Meanwhile, it was also announced that the Rising Stars game on All-Star weekend will now take a new format with the USA vs the World. The league has been looking for ways to improve the events for years, and they may well have struck gold with this one as it should be a fun but competitive game to watch.
