NBA 2014-15 season schedule set to be released at 6 p.m. ET…
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James may be spending Christmas Day with former team the Miami Heat, according to reports ahead of the schedule announcement.
ESPN sources claim the 29-year-old will play his first game in Miami since returning to the Cavaliers on December 25, which will see him reunited with the likes of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on one of the NBA’s marquee dates of the regular season.
The full schedule for the 2014-15 season will be released at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday in an NBA TV special, and it is expected that the league will make the most of the situation by pairing the two teams together in order to land significant viewing figures.
James is also expected to face his former team in a pre-season game in the coming months, but it is unlikely that there will be anything beyond the usual competitiveness displayed on both sides, with the two-time NBA champion leaving on good terms with the majority of the franchise.
It remains to be seen how the fans react to him on his first visit back to the AA Arena, but ultimately having deliver two championships and taken the Heat to the NBA Finals in four consecutive years, it is likely that he will receive a positive response.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times are reporting that the L.A. Clippers and Golden State Warriors will also face off on Christmas Day as their rivalry continues to build after a series of heated clashes.
In addition, defending champions, the San Antonio Spurs, are rumoured to be scheduled for a home start to the season on October 28 where they will face the Dallas Mavericks.
