The Clippers intend on using their first round pick in order to land either Wilson Chandler or Arron Afflalo of the Denver Nuggets, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Doc Rivers also reportedly has an interest in Phoenix Suns star Gerald Green as he has identified the fact that his team need to upgrade their wing options ahead of a playoff push.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not they are able to acquire what they need to present attractive offers to the teams in question. There are doubts that the Nuggets will find the Crawford deal appealing enough to persuade them to part with either Chandler or Afflalo.
The Clippers are also struggling against the cap and have already traded their 2015 first round pick to the Boston Celtics as well as another future pick to the Milwaukee Bucks, and so inevitably are in a difficult position moving forward.
They may even have to rely on moves elsewhere to free up the market, or perhaps even consider the buy-out market if they are to bolster their roster.
Rivers will be pleased with how his team has responded to the loss of star forward Blake Griffin to injury over the past week, but he will also hope that they have not lost their momentum over the All-Star break.
