It was confirmed on Tuesday night that Minnesota would have the top pick in the Draft on June 25, after they were drawn out in the NBA Draft Lottery to make their selection first.
Karl-Anthony Towns tops numerous mock Draft boards, but according to speculation, Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders is leaning towards Okafor.
Not so sure how quickly we should be penciling in Towns at #1, Okafor at #2. Word has itt Flip really likes Okafor. Will be some drama there

Neither Towns nor Okafor participated in the combine, and so it is more than likely that the Timberwolves will have them both visit in the coming weeks before they make their final decision.
However, it is worth noting that Saunders has a history of misdirecting and so if the report claims that he is favouring one player, it should come as no surprise if he ultimately went with the other.
Okafor would perhaps fit with Andrew Wiggins and the other young talent on the roster better, but Towns’ versatility makes him a popular choice and he is expected to be the better all-round product further down the line.
Regardless of who they pick, the Los Angeles Lakers will gladly take the other as they struck it lucky by claiming the No.2 overall pick following Tuesday’s draw while the New York Knicks were left to rue an awful season which was ‘rewarded’ with the fourth pick.
