Numerous teams struggling in the Eastern Conference this season.
The Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns have exchanged jokes on Twitter which has brought into question the strength of the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
There are currently just two teams in the East with winning records, with the Indiana Pacers (16-2) and Miami Heat (14-4) sharing six losses all season between them.
While the Washington Wizards currently sit in third spot at 9-9, the remainder of the teams have struggled for consistency with several potential title contenders hampered by injuries and loss of form.
Nevertheless, it is a stark contrast to the competitiveness of the Western Conference, where no less than 10 teams currently have more wins than defeats and the race for the playoffs has very much already begun.
This has led the Blazers and Suns to poke fun at their Eastern rivals on Twitter, while the former are top of the pile with a 15-3 record, Phoenix are currently 12th but would be tied for third if they were in the East.
Is it too late to join the Eastern Conference? Asking for a friend.

@trailblazers We asked you to keep that on the down low. That eager to get rid of us already?

Both the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets have struggled all season as they come to terms with key absentees and difficulties integrating new players and coaches.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been left to ponder a new strategy after Derrick Rose was struck with another season-ending knee injury.
As a result, that has left the playoff seedings wide open moving forward, with a number of teams now harbouring realistic hopes of making the post-season.
Nevertheless, it has brought into question the quality and depth of the Eastern Conference, with only two teams, the Pacers and Heat, tipped to be capable of winning an NBA championship this year.
