Liverpool announced a record-breaking £300m kit deal with New Balance in February.
The American manufacturers, who are set to become the Reds’ supplier from the start of the 2015/16 season, released their first football advert earlier this week.
It features seven of the Premier League’s top stars – Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey, Manchester United duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januazaj, plus Manchester City stars Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas and Fernando Reges.
The video, which highlights the commitment needed to be a top player – over the full 90 minutes and beyond – can be watched below…
Directed by Marie Schuller, New Balance’s ad aims to promote the notion that football is about far more than the final result – that it is the mentality to give all whenever stepping out onto the pitch and that every aspect – every run, goal, victory is what matters.
Schuller said: “This film is all about striving to be better. The New Balance players each have immense talent but that alone is not enough, becoming a better athlete is the motivation that drives them on. Each scene aims to capture the relentless pursuit of excellence, the fact they never stop pushing to improve. Stylistically we set out to create a cool and contemporary film which was different to anything the category would do.”
The players in the video have been in differing form in the Premier League this season, with Manchester United midfielder Fellaini boasting the most impressive campaign, having been given a new lease of life under boss Louis van Gaal, recently netting a fine finish in a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford – a game in which he won the man of the match award.
As well as Liverpool, New Balance will provide official strips for FC Porto, Stoke City and Sevilla next season.
The first collection of New Balance boots will go on sale in July 2015.
