The NCAA Tournament 2015 has reached the Sweet 16 stage and favourites Kentucky lead a star line-up with three top seeds making it through successfully.
The Wildcats have breezed through their opening two games against Hampton and Cincinnati respectively, and John Calipari’s men have avoided becoming the biggest casualty of the tournament so far.
With so much pressure on Kentucky given their unbeaten record and tag as favourites, they have lived up to the billing so far and will hope to continue to handle the level of expectation.
Meanwhile, they face West Virginia in the next round who took care of No.4 seed Maryland last time out.
Notre Dame and Wichita State will do battle in the same quarter with the latter knocking out the Kansas Jayhawks in the third round, while on the other side of the top half of the bracket is NC State vs Louisville and Oklahoma vs Michigan State.
Naturally, the biggest exclusion so far is the absence of Villanova, with the No.1 seed being defeated by NC State in a thrilling game over the weekend.
Both Duke and Wisconsin have made it through relatively comfortably in the bottom half, and they face Utah and North Carolina respectively next.
Meanwhile, Xavier vs Arizona and UCLA vs Gonzaga completes the field, with the latter expected to be a thrilling encounter with both teams displaying some great basketball so far in the tournament.
Regardless, Kentucky remain the team to beat and based on their early performances, it will take something special to knock them off their perch.
