The defeat saw the Eagles slip into the bottom three as the halfway point of the campaign approaches, and the club are now looking to make a positive change to salvage something before May.
The 66-year-old was appointed as the club’s manager for the second time over the summer following the departure of Tony Pulis.
Warnock won just three of his 16 Premier League games in charge.
As yet there are no names being lined up as a replacement and the club will likely promote somebody internally to take charge for Sunday’s clash with fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers.
