It’s the turn of Netherlands v Mexico in the 2014 World Cup last-16 as the winner will join hosts Brazil and Colombia in the quarter-finals.
The Brazilians went through after penalties on Saturday, whilst the Colombians eliminated fellow South Americans Uruguay in an efficient 2-0 victory.
Now it’s the turn of the Dutch and the Mexicans, who both performed well at the group stage and will enter this tie brimming with confidence.
Louis van Gaal’s men topped a difficult Group B with maximum points, after beating Spain, Australia and the Chileans.
Their opponents meanwhile finished second behind the Samba Boys in Group A by virtue of goal difference and despite a poor qualifying campaign now look in good touch.
The winner of this game will face either Costa Rica or Greece in the quarters, which of all the teams left in the tournament would be considered a favoruable draw.
Robin van Persie returns for the Oranje after missing their final group game due to suspension and will join the excellent Arjen Robben in attack – with the duo having three World Cup goals apiece to date.
Bruno Martins Indi is only fit enough to make the bench though, whilst Miguel Herrera will be without Jose Vasquez in midfield and it means Carlos Salcido will fill in.
