Less than 24 hours after completing his £16m transfer from Manchester United to Arsenal, Danny Welbeck has suffered an ankle injury whilst away with England on national team duty.
It’s not time for Gunners fans to panic just yet as the knock is thought to be minor, but it has ruled the 23-year-old out of the Three Lions’ international friendly with Norway on Wednesday.

Arsene Wenger signed Welbeck at the 11th hour on deadline day as an alternative for striker Olivier Giroud – who is also currently injured and not expected back in action until 2015.
The England international had grown frustrated with a lack of first team opportunities at Old Trafford and the move to North London was widely considered to be a positive one.
Yet this new fitness issue is not how Welbeck would have wnated to start life at the Emirates Stadium and the forward will be hoping that it doesn’t keep him sidelined for too long.
Wenger’s men don’t play their next game until September 13, when they take on Manchester City at home in the Premier League.
