Paulinho has been told the manager and the Welshman are going nowhere.
Expected new club record transfer at Tottenham Hotspur, Paulinho, has expressed that part of his move to north London from Corinthians was being assured Gareth Bale and Andre Villas-Boas are not leaving.
The Brazilian midfielder is likely to complete a £17m move to White Hart Lane in the very near future and the 24-year-old has said that AVB and Bale will both be there next season.
“To play in England for a great team like Tottenham is a dream. What I respect about Tottenham is the ambition they have shown,” Paulinho was quoted in the Daily Mail.
“This summer there has been interest in their coach and their best player – and they have been clear they both are not going anywhere.
“When my agent made me aware that Tottenham were interested I knew it would not be a move that I could turn down.”
The man in charge at Spurs has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer but has since committed his future to the club.
Bale’s career at the Lane meanwhile still has some doubts cast over it, with Real Madrid being constantly associated with a big money move for the 23-year-old.
However, it seems it is good news for Tottenham fans as not only do they have another Brazil international arriving at the club but their talismanic manager and best player are also staying.
Paulinho still has a Confederations Cup final in his home nation to deal with before his move to London though, with Brazil facing Spain on Sunday.
A late goal from the midfielder helped secure a 2-1 victory over South American rivals Uruguay in the semi-finals, whilst Spain were the winners in a dramatic penalty shootout against Italy on Thursday.
