Patriots QB Tom Brady was sharp through three quarters of a nearly perfect game against the Carolina Panthers.
The New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers 30-7 in Week 3 of the NFL preseason.
The Patriots were able to route the Panthers for the first 58:48 of the game, taking a 30-0 lead late in the fourth quarter before Panthers QB Joe Webb scored the team’s only points on a pass to D.C. Jefferson with 1:12 remaining.
Patriots QB Tom Brady went 17 of 21 for 204 yards and 2 TDs to RB Shane Vereen through three quarters in his last preseason game before the regular season. Brady will not play in Week 4 of the preseason.
Panthers QB Cam Newton struggled once again, going 8 of 12 for 88 yards and being sacked twice. He also added 12 yards on the ground on three carries. Newton also suffered a contusion on his back at one point, but the X-ray came back negative for any damage or injury.
Starting RBs Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams also struggled, combining for 20 yards on 9 carries. No Panthers back had a rush for more than 8 yards on any given play.
