The New England Patriots have signed former New Orleans Saints backup RB Travaris Cadet, and will likely use him in a pass catching RB and kick returner.
Field Yates of ESPN reported that the Patriots had reached an agreement with the former Saints backup on Tuesday, which will make him one of the backup RBs in a backfield that already has LeGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray.

In three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Cadet played in 41 games but recorded just 382 yards from scrimmage and just 37 rushing yards on 11 career carries. However, he displayed impressive ability in the kick return game, averaging 25.9 yards/kick return on 50 total returns.
But the Patriots have made a habit out of taking undrafted backup RBs and turning them into stars in the last few years, just as they did with BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Danny Woodhead, LaGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray.
