The Saints recently traded away tight end Jimmy Graham to the Seattle Seahawks, and they are continuing to make a strong effort to get back under the salary cap as they were $16 million over.
Grubbs is a two-time Pro Bowler, so his presence will provide an instant upgrade for a Chiefs offensive line that struggled through a rebuilding phase.
Meanwhile, Brees will have a more difficult time carrying the load for the Saints offense as he hopes to bounce back from a disappointing season.
