The New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Rams will face each other in their first preseason games. The Saints have an upgraded secondary while the Rams have an upgraded offensive line.
The New Orleans Saints will play their first preseason game against the St. Louis Rams. The wait will be over for fans who have been itching to watch wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Cooks adds a deep threat to the Saints offense with his explosive speed and excellent receiving ability.
In addition to the upgraded receiving corps, the Saints have an elite secondary with safety Jairus Byrd and cornerback Champ Bailey arriving in free agency. Cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste was also added in the second round of the draft.
Sam Bradford will not play for the Rams in their preseason opener, so Shaun Hill and Austin Davis will take the majority of the snaps at quarterback. Jake Long will also be out, so this gives the Rams more of a reason to give Bradford more time to heal. First-round pick Greg Robinson will have more pressure on his shoulders at left guard.
Kenny Britt will be a key player to watch since he is expected to boost the receiving corps if he can stay out of trouble.
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald and running back Tre Mason will be the key rookies to keep an eye on. Mason will see the field once Stacy is taken out of the game, and Donald will look to prove he can push for a starting job at defensive tackle.
