German giants have now joined the list of clubs keen to land coveted winger this summer.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have earmarked Tottenham Hotspur midfield player Gareth Bale for a big-money end-of-season move to Bavaria, according to reports in the Sun.
The Wales international, currently on the sidelines with an ankle injury, is enjoying his most productive campaign to date in English football, so much so that on Friday he is one of six nominations to be crowned this season’s Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year.
The 23-year-old playmaker has reinvented himself at White Hart Lane this season under under new Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas, and the 23-year-old is no longer considered to be just an out-and-out wide man, but can operate anywhere across the club’s forward line.
And, as a result Bale has found the back of the net an incredible 17 times already in only 27 Premier League appearances to date, while the attacker has also netted an impressive 22 goals in just 38 matches in all competitions for the North Londoners, his best-ever return as a player.
