Capoue will be sidelined for a month but issue not as bad as first feared.
Tottenham Hotspur fans looked on with grim faces on Sunday as new £9m signing Etienne Capoue went off against Arsenal with what looked like a nasty ankle injury.
However, the north London club have confirmed that the problem is not as bad as first thought and the Frenchman will be sidelined for a month.

Capoue had impressed at White Hart Lane since making the switch from Toulouse in the summer and has played all three of Tottenham’s Premier League matches, as well as the first-leg against Dinamo Tbilisi in the Europa League qualifier.
The 25-year-old is one of seven new faces at Spurs this transfer window, with the club becoming the biggest spenders in the English top tier having paid out a whopping £105m.
However, the majority of that outlay was recouped in one fell swoop on Sunday when Gareth Bale was eventually sold to Real Madrid for a world record £85.3m.
It was a difficult day for Tottenham as not only did their best player leave the club, but the side also suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Arsenal.
Capoue, like most of the Spurs team, had a poor game against the Gunners but there is still much expected from Andre Villas-Boas’ team this year after spending such a large amount on new talent.
